Alberto grew up to become a professional hockey player before turning his head to his books, studying Engineering at the University of Milan. Inevitably, his sporting and schooling commitments took him to the city, far from horses and his passions in the countryside.

So he turned his head once again, this time to Argentina and the wilds of Patagonia.

In Patagonia, he spent four years living as, and with, the gauchos of Southern Argentina, working on the mountains as a back-up guide in areas known only from the back of a horse. This intensive experience prepared him to return home to dedicate himself to horses and a life in the mountains, full-time. Back to his roots and back in the saddle.

Lover of this land and its mountains, Alberto has created Gauberg to provide extreme horse-trekking amidst the striking beauty of the Dolomites, revealing their culture, confirming their charm and unveiling their inherent magic.
